Leh Ladakh Kargil Srinagar

My most awaited trip

Day 1

A long awaiting trip. We took a direct flight to Leh. Our flight was preponed to 3:10 am. Always book your seats to left side. We paid for the window seats to enjoy the view of the snow covered mountains

image-8750.jpgimage-8751.jpgimage-8752.jpgimage-8753.jpgimage-8754.jpgimage-8755.jpg

We had booked our entire trip with Juley tours. We were taken to our stay by car and for the rest of the trip we travelled through a tempo traveller as we were a group of 7

image-8756.jpgimage-8757.jpg

It was our 1st day and we had the entire day to rest, acclimitaize and explore the Leh market area. So we took some rest, freshened up and later left in the afternoon to have our lunch and explore the market. It was hardly 15 minutes from our stay

image-8758.jpg

We were looking for some good cafe/restaurant for lunch in the market area. Later we found this cafe. The food here was very yummy with decent ambience

image-8759.jpgimage-8760.jpgimage-8761.jpgimage-8762.jpgimage-8763.jpg

Restaurant

After strolling around the market, we wanted to drink some good coffee and so we googled for it. This was recommended as the best place. We had coffee/kahva/ginger tea here

Day 2

Monument

We started exploring Leh city on the second day of the trip. Our 1st stop was Hall of Fame memorial

image-8766.jpgimage-8767.jpgimage-8768.jpgimage-8769.jpgimage-8770.jpgimage-8771.jpgimage-8772.jpgimage-8773.jpgimage-8774.jpgimage-8775.jpg

Next, we headed to Pathar Sahib Gurudwara which was on the way to Sangam. We even ate food in the Langar which was so good.

image-8776.jpgimage-8777.jpgimage-8778.jpgimage-8779.jpgimage-8780.jpgimage-8781.jpgimage-8782.jpgimage-8783.jpgimage-8784.jpg

It is said that when you stop the vehicle here, it starts moving due to magnetic force but to be honest, we didn't experience it

image-8785.jpgimage-8786.jpgimage-8787.jpg

The Sangam of 2 rivers-Zanskar and Indus was seen here and it was very beautiful and peaceful. People did river rafting here but we didn't go for it as the water flow was not that much

image-8788.jpgimage-8789.jpg

Monument

We had already bought the tickets to Zorawar fort from Hall of fame memorial so we went here after completing the other places

image-8800.jpgimage-8801.jpgimage-8802.jpgimage-8803.jpgimage-8804.jpgimage-8805.jpgimage-8806.jpgimage-8807.jpgimage-8808.jpg

Monument

After having some snacks, we went to visit the beautiful Leh Palace. The entire city was visible from here

image-8809.jpgimage-8810.jpgimage-8811.jpgimage-8812.jpgimage-8813.jpgimage-8814.jpg

This restaurant was located nearby the market area and the food here was very nice

Day 3

Mountain

Next day, we left for Khardung la. We reached on the top within 2 hours and it was suggested that we shouldn't wait there more than 20 mins. We even didn't drink any milk products to avoid the AMS but the good thing was we got to see the snow ❄️

image-8822.jpgimage-8823.jpgimage-8824.jpgimage-8825.jpgimage-8826.jpgimage-8827.jpgimage-8828.jpgimage-8829.jpgimage-8830.jpgimage-8831.jpg

We took a halt at the North pullu check post. Had some maggi and coffee and behind the stall we found this water stream which had an amazing spot for taking pictures with the view

Just when we entered Nubra valley, we took a halt to have some lunch at a small restaurant

image-8850.jpgimage-8851.jpgimage-8852.jpg

The journey to Pangong lake was very long but not tiring cause the views were so mind blowing that we just couldn't keep our eyes off it. At some point, the roads were in bad condition but it was an amazing journey as we were excited for destination

image-8853.jpgimage-8854.jpgimage-8855.jpgimage-8856.jpgimage-8857.jpgimage-8858.jpg

We finally reached Pangong after 6-7 hours. But it was all worth it. The lake was so clean and blue and the view was just so beautiful. We took a lot of pictures and videos here

image-8868.jpgimage-8869.jpgimage-8870.jpgimage-8871.jpgimage-8872.jpg

Our tent stay was just 5 mins away from the lake. There were 2 options - tent stay and cottage stay. We opted for tent stay as it fitted our budget. The room was good but the washroom wasn't clean enough. But we tried to adjust as we left next day

Just from a distance to Stok Palace, we could see the Buddha Statue so we decided to visit here.

image-9022.jpgimage-9023.jpgimage-9024.jpg

This was not in our list but our drivers suggested us to visit this beautiful monastery which was on the way to Hemis monastery

image-9025.jpgimage-9026.jpgimage-9027.jpgimage-9028.jpg

There was a museum and a monastery inside Hemis. We first visited the museum and there were lockers to keep our phones and cameras as it was restricted inside. Next we saw the monastery and met the cute little Lucy which was a Lhasa
